## Status lifecycle

Incidents move through four statuses:

| Status | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `investigating` | Initial triage — cause unknown |
| `identified` | Root cause found |
| `monitoring` | Fix applied, watching for recovery |
| `resolved` | Incident closed |
